You may as well have some info to put with the name and the face behind the blog. Today, I’m sharing 10 things about myself, my career, and my aspirations!

  1. Despite its heavy influence while growing up, my Afrikaans is limited to the crass language my dad picked up in the army during Angolan Bush War.
  2. I’m a lefty! I smudge everything I write and I bear my ink stains proudly.
  3. I’m a city girl. Born and raised in Vancouver, Beautiful British Columbia.
  4. I’ve wanted to be many things in my life—a designer… a writer… I used to flip through Western Living magazine looking at gorgeously-styled homes, fancying myself an architect when I grew up. Now I write for Western Living
  5. I’m an espresso in the morning and Earl Grey with milk in the afternoon kind of gal.
  6. I have a favourite piece of punctuation. Yep, grammar nazi alert! I abhor the semicolon and I am unapologetic about my rampant use of em dashes. The oxford comma? Meh, I’m rather blasé about it.
  7. September is unabashedly my favourite month of the year. The seasonal rain hasn’t arrived yet, but the pretty fall colours have. And the days are still long enough to make it feel like summer.
  8. You’ve got no chance against me in a quiz on African geography.
  9. My favourite author is and has always been Roald Dahl.
  10. I’ve visited 10 countries so far and plan to add many more to that list.

That’s it! Well, there’s a lot more where that came from, but this should tide you over. What are some interesting facts about yourself? I’d love to know in the comments below.
